Meet the Maker

Hello. My name is Vern, and I specialize in creating one-of-a-kind writing utensils and keepsakes that hold deep sentimental value. Using clothing, wood, or other materials from loved ones, I transform them into pens, pencils, and jewelry that become cherished gifts of remembrance.

I have always tinkered and tried to build things. My dad built houses, and I would work the job sites, usually cleaning up until I could handle a hammer. Oh, and I grew up on a farm. Which meant fixing things. After graduating from high school, my friends and I built some race cars. That’s where I learned about auto mechanics. If my hands were idle it wasn’t long until I would be making little sculptures out of parts. I went to art school for animation and found myself helping to build a kiosk for McDonald’s lunch of a sandwich. Exactly two years ago tomorrow, I started an LLC. I didn’t make much money, but I haven’t gone negative yet either. Trying to run a business without knowing what I should be doing was a challenge. I got to find out the freedom of running my own life for a bit, and I liked it.
