To create my handmade pens, I use a process called lathe turning. It begins with carefully selecting high-quality materials—such as hardwoods, acrylics, or resin blanks—which are cut to size and drilled to fit the pen’s internal components. The blank is then mounted onto a lathe and spun while I use specialized tools to slowly shape it by hand.
As the materials turn, the pen is carefully carved and refined until it reaches the desired shape, balance, and feel. Once shaped, the pen is sanded through multiple fine grits to achieve a smooth surface, then polished or finished to enhance durability and bring out the natural beauty of the material.
Finally, the pen components are assembled, resulting in a handcrafted writing instrument that reflects both skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail.
